FPS

In FPS we got a new member! Her name is Thejo. It's kind of weird because she's in fourth grade and we're in fifth. Now, you're probably wondering what FPS is. FPS stands for Future Problem Solving. What we do is get a scene from the future and find problems and solutions from it. The scene isn't too far into the future, about twenty years. It is really fun and she seems to be enjoying it.

The Stand

THE LEMONADE STAND

In July 2014, my friends and I did a food stand. We sold Indian snacks (pakora and murukku), lemonade, popcorn, and snow cones.  Around 8:00 AM we started setting up, we brought the table onto our driveway and put up some signs.  Around noon we started making lemonade and at 2:00 we started setting up the table we put the Indian food on one side and the lemonade on the other. At 3:00 we started selling food and lemonade. Eventually at 4:00 we started selling popcorn and snow cones. I had three friends, their names where Ayush, Esha, and Renee. We made $21!!!!! Half of that money went to charity and the rest we split between ourselves. That is the story of the food stand!!!

Cinco De Mayo

Cinco De Mayo is a Mexican Holliday. Cinco De Mayo actually means 5th of May. Cinco De Mayo is celebrated so Mexican-Americans can share their heritage with other people. It is also celebrated because Mexico won the battle of Puebla. The battle of Puebla was the opening battle of the war between Mexico and France. This war started in 1838 and ended in 1839.
Fun Fact: The number of  people who celebrate Cinco De Mayo in the United States is greater than the number of people who celebrate it in Mexico.
Another Fun Fact: The United States has parades with singing and dancing and music for Cinco De Mayo.

I was expecting to have Mexican food today to celebrate Cinco De Mayo but my mom said NO. Hmph!

Civil War Presentation

Last week, our teacher's dad came in to do a Civil War presentation.  He talked about why the war happened.  Also, he talked about why the north won which is they had more population. Every adult male who came to America was forced to work in the Union army.  He also talked about Abe Lincon's assassination and how important the clothing was.  Please give a review of the following: 5=super, 4=good, 3=decent, 2=bad, 1=terrible.
